The overall objective of the project is to identify, support and kick-start new businesses in the agri-food sector that have innovative potential and can bring benefits to the region.
After considering the relevant strategies for the two countries in the CBA and identifying 5 subsectors and 3 expertise gaps, the partners have decided to focus on two specific fields: food health and safety regulations at the EU level, and smart agriculture.
More specifically, the main objectives of the project are:
- The agri-food sector offers many opportunities for young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses.
- Young professionals in the agri-food sector have innovative ideas that can benefit the industry.
- Highly qualified professionals can receive specialized training in agri-food fields.
- Support is available to help young entrepreneurs overcome barriers when starting a business in the agri-food sector.
- Business training is provided to professionals.
- Kick-start 10 new businesses in the sector.
INFO: The objectives of the project are in line with the Programme Rationale, Thematic Priorities and Specific Objectives as well as with the needs and priorities which are outlined in the Employment Sector (Programming Document, 2nd revision, p.15).The reduction of high levels of unemployment and the addressing of the demographic deficit are among the needs. Regarding the priorities:
- Creating new job positions.
- Leveraging technology and innovation potentials.
- Linking academic capabilities with local opportunities.
By focusing on these priorities, the project is expected to support the employment of highly skilled professionals in a crucial economic sector.
